Fuji Cost to replace X10 lens?

Whilst my initial thoughts are how terrible it is that it costs more to fix a camera than buy a whole new one, I guess the flip side is that cameras are actually comparatively cheap to buy. At least that's how I'm trying to justify this situation to my wife! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

Fuji Cost to replace X10 lens?

I've just found the same problem online that someone was quoted £307 from Fuji to fix! Camera is now scrap, I can buy a new X10 for £279

Fuji Cost to replace X10 lens?

Sadly yes, and I'm trying to work out whether just to throw away or send off to fix. I'm getting a focus error and it sounds like the focus motor / drive mechanism is physically damaged as it clicks and whirs. I'm assuming it needs a whole new lens unit and that will cost a couple of hundred...

Fuji X10 Lens Replacement Cost - UK

Thanks, I did ring them up and ask for a quote, but as you say, they said they'd need to see it. I thought the lens was one unit and it would be a standard price as a full replacement rather than fix it. Mine has an internal mechanical fault, focus motor / gear clicking and giving a focus...

    Fuji X10 Focus Error

Really weird, but my issue seems to have been caused by a faulty 3rd party battery that whilst showing fully charged after charging, was not providing enough power to drive the focus mechanism inside the lens. Once I dug out my original battery, all was fine.......few John Sent from my iPad...

    Fuji X10 Focus Error

My second, newer X10 has developed a pretty frequent, but still intermittent 'focus error' on start up. You can hear gears whirring in the lens when this occurs. Sadly it's out of warranty and I'm wondering if any UK users have had a similar issue and had to pay for the fix themselves. If so...

    Birds Show Birds

Taken with my X10 at 112mm near to Lanzarote Airport. I think it must have been a tamed bird as I literally got 2 feet from it. Possibly used to scare away other birds from the airport before they enter the jet engines of planes.

    Birds Show Birds

Taken with my X10 at 112mm. I literally got 2 feet from this bird just at the end of Lanzarote Airport. It appeared to be so used to people that I think it may have been an airport bird used to keep the airport clear of other birds.

Fuji X20 - soft images around edges

Mine was a used X10 bought from their second hand range. I think new here in the UK is 12 months for Fuji. I'm glad I didn't buy it off a private seller through eBay now! I think this was great service from Park and they were lovely people to deal with on the phone too. Very helpful and didn't...

Fuji X20 - soft images around edges

Fuji X20 - soft images around edges

Nice email from Park Cameras notifying me that my camera had arrived with them and been forwarded to Fuji for a warranty claim. Great service by Park Cameras! I'm not sure if my X10 had ever been back for the orbs issue, but am I right in assuming the lens and sensor are all one unit? John

Fuji X20 - soft images around edges

Thanks everyone, I've contacted Park Cameras 3 days before my 3 month warranty expired. They are taking it back to examine. I really thought it was me and just thought it was poor photography skills, still might be I guess :-) I've noticed it a lot, albeit these are two of the most extreme...

Fuji X20 - soft images around edges

I'm pretty sure this isn't a camera issue, but rather just my poor skills, but why am I getting incredibly soft / out of focus images at the edges when the centre of the images isn't? Thanks in advance? f/2 1/85sec 28mm ISO 1250 hand held f4.5 2.5sec 28mm ISO100 on a tripod Sent from my...

Nikon Showcase First pictures with Nikon P7700

Amazing photos, and whilst they clearly show what is available from a small sensored point and shoot these days (please don't take this as a knock, as that's the only such camera I possess), you clearly have a great ability to point it at interesting subjects and frame these beautifully.

Magic thanks, I'll get one ordered right now

    Fuji Why an X20?

I think the X10 produces great shots at reasonably high ISO as your image shows. I used to have a couple of Canon G series cameras, admittedly older models, but the images from them at ISO800 would have been unusable. You're right that a DSLR would beat it on IQ, but I got bored of having to...

Fuji X10 lens hood - 52mm Variable ND Filter

Has anyone used a variable ND filter in the X10 lens hood please? The variable lenses all protrude further than their 52mm thread and whilst the lens hood would appear to have some room for the extra diameter, I'm wondering if they have enough. Thanks in advance. John

Fuji X20 Images really not good news.

Really great clear images, I struggle to get anything like that clarity with my X10. I'm guessing the X Trans sensor with its lack of an AA filter really helps here. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

    Fuji Going X10

I've tried 2 brands of 40mm filters on my X10, one didn't fit at all and the other fitted perfectly. Nisi and Marumi respectively. Their female threads (i.e the thread lens hoods screw into) also varied. My lens hood fitted perfectly on my Marumi filter, but literally fell off the Nisi filter...

    Fuji Going X10

I couldn't afford an X20, so bought a used X10 from Park Cameras for £200 which included a warranty too. Still learning how to use it properly, but I love the EXR sensor and the extended dynamic range it can produce. I know I'm only getting 6mp and a loss of overall IQ in terms of clarity and...

    Fuji Fujifilm X10 - NiSi 40mm filter - Doesn't Fit!!!

Marumi ordered, just waiting for it to be delivered. The two I tried were the same model, one definitely gripped better than the other, but only just holding on by an 1/8 of a turn or so. I'm sure it would have fallen off and got lost the first time I was out. Thanks for your advice

    Fuji Fujifilm X10 - NiSi 40mm filter - Doesn't Fit!!!

Out of interest, are there two thread sizes on X10 lenses? I've now tried 2 different 40mm filters, neither grips the threads and both feel loose. Some people seem to fit 40.5mm filters. Anyone on here used 40.5mm please. Thanks Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

    Fuji Fujifilm X10 - NiSi 40mm filter - Doesn't Fit!!!

I did a fair bit of research to find a decent filter to fit my X10 and lots of forums all pointed towards the NiSi 40mm filter. I know the camera lens' thread isn't exactly 40mm, but apparently this filter fits perfectly. Sadly after buying a NiSi 40mm, that doesn't seem to be the case for me...

    Canon G9 lens faults

I agree Don, price wise I'm probably better to get a later version, but I do love the styling and build of the 9. The lack of a wide angle is a negative, but I will just buy a decent converter. I believe the 10 still has a metal back, but after this they went to a plastic back to incorporate...

    Canon G9 lens faults

Hi there, this is my first post here and I'm afraid it's a question. I had a G9 some years ago when it was new. I loved it but sold it to fund a DSR. However, I'd love to get another as it's build and images were fantastic. It's only shortfall that I would need to address is its lack of a...
