WOW.
Again, WOW - thanks for the comprehensive and comparative review.
I own an X100S and am very satisfied with it (I love the 35mm focal length), though I have been considering an RX1 trade given the FF and Zeiss optics.
Thanks for your post. Well done.
Yes - the EF-20 kicks butt (IMHO) compared to EF-X20. The EF-20 can be bounced off the ceiling and with a diffuser on it, the resulting image is superb.
Quick handheld snaps from my train station, overlooking the Hudson River. A very blue day out with some light snow that had fallen (see foreground) though most had melted away. Shot three EVs and stacked them; no other PP, so to speak. The day was indeed as blue as it looks.
Hi Res file here...
Hi all. Just beginning to experiment with my new X-E1 and 35/1.4 (reminds me of the PanaLeica 25/1.4). This shot is from indoor (dim lighting) SOOC (resized web). I'm sure the lens will be better outdoors as well...
Note - YES, the background is busy (though the wide aperture helps), but...
Thanks for your settings above. But dont you mean "Provia" when you sayd "Pro Neg High"? Or do you mean Pro(via) Neg(ative Tone) High (Color and Sharp) ?
Hi all. I searched the internet briefly, but not sure I got my answer. I have an X100 (and an X-E1 on order). Been lazy about the settings until now, but wondering.... most of my shots are of my family or friends. 99% are portraits or people shots, and of those two-thirds are indoors with either...
Thanks - yes, the donuts were delicious. The X100 continues to amaze me (makes me wonder why I was a moron and sold my first one before re-buying one).
The crops are so insanely good for my purposes. Mind you, I have a few kids, so I've become a 'lazy' photographer the past few years. Thus...
Ha - yes. Jelly donuts galore. Anyway, yes the EF-20 does tilt. I think it's a great flash that doesnt get much credit. I had the newer EF-X20, which has same GN rating, but smaller. That one doesnt tilt and I foudn it provided very harsh lighting, even with flash EV at -1.
For my EF-20, I...
Quick snap at a Hanukkah meal... menorah lit in background, jelly donut stuffed into mouth. Is there more to life?
Scroll down to see crop of image as well.
X100 @ f/2, 1/60, ISO 500. EF-20 bounced off ceiling.
And here is a crop to see the insanely good sharp details. Certainly...
Anyone have a link (Amazon or eBay) to a GGS like screen protector that fits X-E1?
I have found that the Canon S100 GGS fits my X100 perfectly (oh, the horrors!) so as long as measurements are correct. Thanks.
Quiet on the X100 boards here, though I'd punch it up with a two quick snaps before bedtime of some of my kids while coloring/doodling/getting ready...
Hi all. I originally started this in the X forum, but realized it belongs here. I know X100 doesnt get much chatter here, but I know others have inquired as to how it looks. I have previously owned the X100 + EF-20 (larger flashgun, but same GN 20 as the new EF-X20). Anyway, I wanted a smaller...
On my way home from work in the evening, I came across these three merry fellows who had finished their shifts earlier in the day. They had been celebrating by downing quite a few beers...! Had my X100 handy and snapped off a quick pic. Available lighting (read: indoor yuckey fluorescent and...
The X100 is still a camera I go back to again and again. I just cant help it. I had an E-M5, but sold it to get another X100 that I had given up.
The EF-X20 is a cute flash when you need more lighting. Here are two photos I just took, first with no flash; second with the EF-X20 and the...
I know X100 is quiet these days compared to X-E1 and X-Pro1, but I ran an errand earlier today, so grabbed my X100. I was walking down the street at same time as another fellow who seemed to be hauling 50 pounds of gear. massive tripod, DSLR, big lens, two bags, etc. God knows what he was...
Hi all. I know X100 doesnt get much chatter here, but although no output photos from this combo yet, I know others have inquired as to how it looks. I have previously owned the X100 + EF-20 (larger flashgun, but same GN 20 as the new EF-X20). Anyway, I wanted a smaller flash than the EF-20...

Buy & Sell Listing - Want to BuySelling
Looking to BUY a Fuji X100

Description
Hi all. I keep missing the X100 I once owned, so while I am aware of its quirks, I'm looking to pickup a gently Used one from a fellow enthusiast who perhaps no longer...
Had an X100 (twice)...
Hi. I had an X100 - twice over. Got it when it first came out, but my photography skills just couldnt take advantage of the camera at the time and I found it *too* finicky for me, so I sold it off.
Two years, and a lot of learning and other photo passed, and I came...
Camera jolt as hit shutter release could be ameliorated a few ways. Firstly, have you purchased a small "soft" shutter release button? I own one from match technical, called the Red Bop, linked: Bop Red Satin for Fuji X100) but you can find many on ebay. It really can make a difference in the...
Hi all. I've owned a few cameras over the past two years, but I kept coming back to my experience and images with the X100 that I owned in early 2011 shortly after it first came out. Naturally, like all of us who use cameras regularly - I have matured as a photographer over the past two years...
My barely used, new RX100. Used for about 20 photos, great IQ but not what I need right now. Otherwise, a real gem.
In mint condition with LCD shrink wrap still on, etc. Includes box, manual, all packaging, etc.
$648 (same as Amazon but I actually have it in stock) net Gift, shipped via...
It does lack a bit of 'character' when holding it compared to the XZ-1, if that matters. However, the image output is the real determinant. We'll see what the XZ-2 has inside of it (in terms of sensor) and the LX-7.
I do think that the XZ-2 (if built upon the XZ-1's lens) could be superior...
Got my hands on an RX100 from a friend back from Japan directly. Wow - what a camera! Took it to my favorite park across the street from my office -- you know I love those real-user, average Joe tests (after all, any professional can make great photos with even a mediocre camera; the key is for...
I borrowed a friend's X100 briefly and loved it. Wouldn't replace my E-P3 nor new E-M5, but I wouldn't mind owning an X100 at a reasonable price. Oh - and I borrowed his X100 BEFORE the firmware fixes that made improvements... and I still loved it. The image quality is superb.
If you have one...
