Thank you all for your input. I got the Olympus OM-D E-M10 II. It came with the 14-42 lens. I got the Oly 40-150mm f/4-5.6 R lens. Still looking at prime lenses, but I'm in business. I appreciate everyone who took the time to share your experience. You all are great!

I really want a decent EVF. No EVF was the other thing I didn't like about the GF5. I mostly use the EVF over the LCD. Oh, and I don't find dual I.S. necessary. Thanks for all your input! You have clarified several things for me.

I am camera-less at the moment. For the quick trip we planned (full of teaching and other busyness), we planned to use our phone cameras for quick snaps. So everything got left behind.

You give me a lot to think about. The Panasonic FZ1000 is interesting. It's larger than I was looking at going for a camera, but I like the specs on it. I may put that idea in the pot and stir it around.

This is the first time to participate for me. So far it's been fun, and challenging. For instance, today I forgot until late, so with no light outside, I'm about to go prowling around the house to see what I can find to shoot.

Bright umbrellas on a stormy day...taken on our way home from church today. Flood waters in the village have receded, so people are taking advantage of it before the next storm.

While I don't miss Alaska's cold and snow, I do miss her beauty! I'm glad you post these snow pictures. I can enjoy them from the warmth of Botswana!

Storm clouds over colorful houses - Rainy season has set in for sure here in Botswana.

Storms kept our internet going off and on, so I'm late posting. Storms also kept me from getting out. This is our our back window. Rotating clouds over the neighbor's roof.

Our Myna bird showed up again this morning, and was less shy. The picture is heavily cropped, and just not really sharp focus, but this was almost my entry for today. Our African Hoopoe is back! Again, heavily cropped. I need to get a longer, sharper lens for the birds.

Downtown I don't know why, but I like the angles of this building.

Cincinnati chili - not very inspiring today, but the Myna bird I was stalking just wouldn't cooperate. I never did get a clear shot of her. It was a dreary, inside kind of day.

Love the pictures. I missed Day 1 completely. Didn't even think of SIJ until Monday. I'm a bit late posting, but here's Day 2. It's summer and rainy season in Botswana. These trees are at the end of their blooming time. 2 weeks ago they were completely covered in dark red flowers.
