The 16-80 is 3.08" x 3.5" and weighs 15.52 oz. The 18-55 is 2.56" x 2.77" and weighs 10.93 oz. In terms of filter size (as a measure of width at the front), the 16-80 takes 72mm, and the 18-55 is 58mm.

Very much liking this lens. The IQ is as good as the 18-35, and the extra reach at both ends, especially long, is most welcome.

Nothing will replace my 90mm, but the 16-80's versatility, plus less wieght and bulk, make it my go-to choice for outdoor adventures. For all intents and purposes, it has replaced the 18-55.
