Today I was playing with some handheld nature close-ups. This really isn't the lens for that - I like its character but it's not really very sharp at minimum focus, especially wide open. It was still fun making some snapshots of my neighbors' tree.

Posting late. Unexpectedly had to drive out of state yesterday. Stopped for a late lunch at a local “buffet” restaurant in a small town somewhere in Missouri. Though I made this photo while no diners were at the buffet, the place was hopping at 3pm. iPhone snap.

Roamed a couple back alleys today, but didn't come up with much I liked. Including this, haha.

Tried my grandma's old recipe for "slightly out of focus flapjacks" today. They were a bit ugly, and indeed slightly out of focus as you can see, but they tasted pretty good.

Doing some lens comparisons for tabletop subjects today, comparing the 40/2 that I'm using for SiA this month to some of my other Z lenses. I use other lenses for this kind of work, but for non-critical stuff the little 40/2 isn't half bad. I really like the gentle look of its bokeh.

Super windy here today, and a big gust seemed to turn this bird feeder's squirrel baffle into a satellite dish. So I decided to sample AF modes on this birdseed tube that was swaying in the wind. But as I brought my camera up to my eye, ESPN started coming in on my EVF.

Insufficient DOF but the only frame I made all day. (I encountered some strange behavior from my Z f, so I put shooting on hold while I went down a rabbit hole trying to figure it out; never did, but that was my only window of time to make photos. I guess I'll have to try to replicate the issue...

Congrats! I’ve always thought that was one of the sexiest film cameras ever made. Wanted one sooooo bad when it was “current” (I was a teen at that time), but I was neck deep in Pentax M then and couldn’t swing it. Looks like you got one in great shape - have fun!
