Fuji My X-Pro2 Review

I'm in total agreement, Adam. If Fuji goes the way I think, The X-T3 will lose the exposure compensation dial. Moving that to the rear scroll wheel like the X-H1. The X-H1 was made to be closer to the DSLR experience. And the X-T line should be becoming the baby XH line. Fuji should not go that route with the X-Pro3. The Pro3 needs to keep all of it's dials. The X-Pro line should always be part or the shooting experience. Giving a little something special to the files to differentiate them from the XH/T line would be an awesome move.

Nice article Adam I read through it a couple of times and I agree the 3 will have to make some changes for me to find it appealing enough to upgrade from the 2.

It seems that as mirrorless grows into genuine DSLR replacements they seem destined to replicate DSLRs

Or as The Who sang

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss

Absolutely, if it’s just an xp2 with a few more megapixels and another iso stop it won’t be special enough

I really want to see some innovation with the hybrid VF.

Like a Seiko spring drive... kinda looks like a 36000 bph mech watch from the outside, an amzing feat of design an accuracy on the inside

To me anything more then 24mp would be wasted. I remember comparing my D810 to my D750 although the 750 was newer, the extra megapixels did nothing since I don't print billboards. I actually liked the smaller mp iq better. I think the X-P1 16mp has a quality the X-P2 cant match but thats just my op.

I've been wanting to see this done for a while. I've always felt the same way about the original Canon 5D. Through all of it's successors, which are all great cameras, I always felt the original 5D images had that magic intangible something to them. Great job on this, Adam. Looking forward to next week.

Thanks Adam I enjoyed your post and also looking too next week.

I see some difference but I wonder if the software affects the processing of each raw image differently. Would not images straight out of the camera be a better judge? Am I failing to see something. It is still early here.

Thanks Mike,

I might compare the jpegs as well

If the same software demosaics files from the same brand of camera, which are set to the same film simulation (which they are), and the files look different (which they do) then I want to understand the differences, as it might help me understand just what it is about the x-pro1 images that makes me like them
