How's weather at your place?

We had Saturday 39, Sunday 40 and yesterday 40 again. Insane for Autumn, but its Summer's last hurrah and today is supposed to be much cooler. I cope by going nowhere. Yesterday I kept Toby inside, because he failed to come home on Sunday and I found him gasping in the shade (?) of a frangipani a few houses away from here. He drank about 500ml of water in half an hour which is a lot for a little cat. He was so wrecked, he could not even walk home. Poor little tyke (but what an idiot, not coming home earlier like he normally does)

Oh poor little thing! Be careful of allowing him to drink too much though... I read of a dog that arrived in France and guzzled water during a play in a paddling pool which diluted his essential salts and he died :(

Thanks, Christina. I wasnt worried though, cats seem to be more sensible than dogs about how much to eat and drink. He's fine now, but it was quite distressing to find him in that state: I knew cats sweat through their paws and mouth, just like dogs, but never have I found a cat sweating so much that his paws were wet. He was just exhausted. Anyway, all better now, and Sunday is forgotten (just not by me, which is why he's a bit narked with me, keeping him inside. LOL!)

Not much danger of that happening here, my cats won't even go outside. Sunny intervals but there is still some snow left and it was minus 2c with a 35 mph east wind. The ground is frozen solid.

Another nor'easter is forecast for the upper Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions of the U.S. over the next day or so. Snow accumulations will vary widely... but up to 18 inches is expected in some local areas. Enough already. It's the end of March.

From a high of 70F two days ago to a high of barely 30 today. Bicycle weather.

As indicated in some of the posts above, it's not summer in Australia anymore, yet the heat continues, so much so that bushfires were raging here in the suburbs of Sydney. A bit too close for comfort to be honest. This is what it was like at the end of the day, once the fires were clearing up.

The weather system that has been hammering the US Midwest has arrived. The blazing sunrise I posted in another thread this morning was a harbinger of things to come. We went from very warm and sunny the past two days, to a steady, increasingly colder rain all day today. Supposed to be down in the 30s F tonight, with the possibility of snow the next 24 hours. Sheesh.

Beautiful - if a bit chilly - the last couple of days. Monday started off with a blazing sunrise, indicating a weather change on the way. Sure enough, it rained most of the day . . . but the sunrise was worth it.
