Fuji I'm Liking My New X-E3!

Now that I've owned and played with it for a couple of days, and getting used to the "joystick" and touch screen, I can truly say that it is much more user friendly for me over my X-T10. The only feature I miss is the tilting screen, but I can get over not having it.
Owning Olympus M43 bodies for a couple of years has conditioned me for touch screen adeptness, so applying my 'pea-brain' to learning the X-E3 was really easy. Did I mention the joystick is very handy and can do many functions? I certainly don't miss the selector button cluster on the X-T10, and having the extra room for my thumb is a plus!
The viewfinder is perfectly placed for right-eye usage and allows NO MORE NOSE SMUDGING of the LCD! (y) The "swiping" feature of the screen works great and is easily customized.
Fuji really put on their 'thinking caps' in designing this great lightweight RF style body. Too bad they didn't include the flip screen though. That would move it to a "perfect 10" from a 9+.
Fuji should offer the X-E3 with their excellent little 27mm f2.8 as a kit. That's how mine will be configured 95% of the time!

Looks like a fine camera. I was thinking of buying one to update my X-Pro1 but the missing tilting screen made it a no go. I'm used to the touch screen because I still have and use the Panasonic GM5.So now I might wait for the X-Pro3 but still interesting in the X-E3 (better price and a bit smaller). Would you mind telling us where you're X-E3 is made. The X-Pro1 is made in Japan and I am very satisfied with the strength of my X-Pro1.

Thanks! That was fast. But that " made in China" worries me. Once bought a bike made in China . . . don't ask. But maybe Fuji does check the camera's build in China and am I worried for no reason . . .

I too am loving my X-E3. Five months now and no regrets. Began w/ Fuji a year ago. Purchased used, X-E2s, X-Pro2 and X-T2 to see what felt right for me. They each had qualities I liked. Of those 3, I noticed it was the X-E2s that I was most often picking up and using. Especially nice w/ either 23 f2 or 35 f2. But I loved the ACROS simulation. So, when the X-E3 was announced, the decision was made. I have little experience w/ flip screens. My early years of photography were of course, camera to eye, elbows in, shooting. I did see when I had the X-T2, that being older now, that articulating screen could be handy. Love the joystick and swiping functions on X-E3. In December, shot 330 'kids w/ Santa' pics at an elementary school Christmas event. Used the touch screen shooting option, sitting behind tripod. Never ever thought I'd be doing that. Result? Hundreds of happy & grateful parents.

Andy, do you feel a noticeable improvement in the AF speed and accuracy going from XT10 to XE3?

No regrets with mine either, got one last year because it was a ridiculously cheap Black Friday price. For me, in practical terms, it's just a body for A-IS mount and native Fujinon F1.4 lenses (the 16mm and 35mm are wonderful and adapted Voitlander/ Nikkor lenses just sing on it). It's taken away the dependency I had with m43 of the flip/ touchscreen and ibis, forcing me to see and shoot differently and I'm better for it. I do wonder about that XP2 from time to time, mainly because of its OVF, it does look great, but it seems only a small number of people actually use it, preferring the EVF instead. So I don't seem to be missing out that much then and besides, I'm one of the few who actually likes the split image focusing on the X-E3. I was also a bit concerned that the touch screen would take it away from being a Fuji as most people understand it. That's not the case (I just turn the touchscreen features off). I'd have no problem at all recommending an X-E3.
