Fuji Only 2 Lenses to choose

For most applications I've gone back to my old "holy trinity", or as near as dammit. My "base set" these days is my XPro2 with 23, 35 and 50mm f2s.

Then if I need speed I swap out either the 35mm F2 for the 1.4 or the 50mm F2 for the 1.2. If I need Macro I swap the Fujinon 50mm for the Zeiss 50mm. Wide? Add the 14mm. Tele? Add the 50-230mm or the 100-400mm. Flexibility? The 18-135mm. Single lens? The 18-55mm or if space is at a real premium, the 27mm.

That's why I love the X-System; one mount, many options.

Same here. I also have all of the first-gen Fuji primes. I can't see going for the 16-55 and 50-140 zooms unless I get a larger body - meaning the X-T2. My second Fuji body is an X-T20 and that's where I use the two Fuji zooms that I do have - the 18-55 and 55-200.

Right now, I'm waiting for a revised 18mm prime with WR like the other "Fujicrons."

If I didn't have the Pro2, and X-T1 before. I would not use the 16-55/50-140 pair. I would imagine them to be awkward on the smaller bodies.

As Bill said. The beauty of the Fuji system is that there are so many excellent options.

I usually carry my camera in a small bag mounted on my bike handlebar when I'm out in the woods. I don't see myself ever owning any of the larger, heavier, and much more expensive premium Fuji glass. Fortunately, the excellent options Bobby mentioned above include lenses that fit those of us with tighter budgets. Fuji makes good glass. That includes the X30 for those times I want to go absolutely minimalistic.

Fuji gear is at a point now where one can put together a very capable, even for professional use, kit for not a lot of money on the used market. Fuji has put together an excellent system in a short amount of time.

I came across this looking through all of the migrated threads and it had me thinking since my lens lineup has changed since I last posted. Again. I currently have a four lens kit. The 23 f2, 35 f2, 50 f2, and 90 f2. I want to cut this down to three, if I can. But if I could only have two, it would probably be the 23/50. I have been doing 90% of my shooting with those lenses.

I own the 18mm, 27mm, 35mm 1.4, the 60mm and the 50-230.
On trips I take the X-Pro1 with the 18, 35 and 60mm in my bag, the Thinktank Retrospection5. If necessary there is room for the zoom too.
The 27 gets less use, I really mis the aperture ring. The zoom I only use when I really think I need it. So if I take 2 lenses it will be the 35mm 1.4 and the 18mm. One lens, the 35mm 1.4. If Fuji would make an X-100 with the 35mm I would be in big trouble . . . . :tomato2:

For me my one lens kit is X-t1 & 18-135mm or my X-e2 and 14mm. When I've saved enough cash and found the right deal I'll get a used 50-230mm to go with my 16-50mm with the X-e2 for a super light kit.

For specialist stuff, close up, bokeh, portrait etc I go to my old Konica and Nikon primes on either X body.
