I see a lot of threads dedicated to people dreaming of the X-Pro1 and a few showing others' work with the camera and a few of that show a sampling form one day out with their new camera. But I know there's a bunch of X-Pro1 shooters here so I thought I start a thread specificly to see YOUR shots with the 35mm lens. A thread that can be an ongoing repository of your best with the camera and the lens. I'll add some in a day or two. Also feel free to star another thread to show off your shots with other lenses in the Fuji line-up.

Great shot!!! Good thing I don't live near you....I have a rather large CD collection..... You don't have any old Blue Notes do you? Forget I asked that question........ I used to have a really large vinyl collection when I lived in Boston. When my turntable died I donated a lot of them to an architect who used the covers on the bar in Ryles in Cambridge. They glued them to the bar top and covered them with I don't know how many coats of polyurethane. As soon as I can figure out the cut and past thing I'll post some more photos. I'm really glad I didn't sell the camera. I just love this camera + the 35mm. It's really a great lens.

I have a bunch of Blue Notes (I presume you mean CDs....although I have some LPs too, but they go really fast). My store is known to all the jazzbos. If there's any specific ones you need let me know. Otherwise, I could shoot the CD racks and you could browse ;)

CD's definitely. Sadly, I don't have a turntable anymore. Let me come up with a list for you. Those old Blue Note vinyls are amazing. Up until about 1968 or so the quality of the pressings is really fantastic. I'm strictly an acoustic man although I do like Miles Davis' In a Silent Way and Bitches Brew. I'm not a jazz snob though, I also really like John Zorn (and I love Led Zeppelin and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds...go figure....) :)

I almost didn't post this because it's not much of a photo. I took it to send to my Dad. This is from today. Note the bandage on her other leg. Yep....she cut her other leg this morning at the lake. I don't know how. This of course meant we all piled back in the car and headed yet again to the Emergency Vet. The receptionist looked stunned when I walked in. The same vet was there too because well, we were there last Sunday. Mercifully he didn't think she required stitches. He cleaned out the wound and bandaged her up. Of course we didn't need any anti-biotics because she is still on a prescription from last week's catastrophe. He told me if didn't stop bleeding to take her to my vet on Monday. Best he could figure she got it caught on something in the water. They didn't charge me much this time (or it didn't seem like much compared to the last two trips). I think they really felt sorry for me. This was my third trip with Ruby this year.

I don't shoot much at all with this lens, but I have a few. Here's one of my two daughters in a restaurant, with my wife in the background in the mirror.

You're right.....you're lucky you don't live near the store. You wouldn't have a camera collection anymore.

Bob, those 2 in Carmel are gorgeous. I know what you mean about favorite focal lengths. The problem I have with the X-Pro is that NONE of them are my favorite focal lengths.

and welcome IanLoo.....great first post.

Thanks, I like the 28 and 90 focal lengths, and cannot wait for the 21, it is justhat have never been very fond of the 50, even in the days of film

Dang! I didn't know you bought an Xpro. What did you do with the X100?

It's still in the audition phase, but early reports are coming in and I'm looking at other photographic tools to sell to finance the switch. The X100 may go on the chopping block despite it being my favorite camera. Another option has me exiting the m43 world and creating a massive classified listing. I think I'd have enough money left over to buy the Fuji X-S1 which I would use for telephoto work. The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards selling off the m43 gear. For normal focal lengths, I just always grab the Fujis. And for how little I use the longer focal lengths, I would be fine taking the hit in IQ and just being done carrying around a bunch of different lenses and stuff.

I'd wait a while before you sell off your m43 gear Luke. I've thought about doing that a few times, making a wholesale switch, but I've never done it and I'm really glad I haven't. The Fuji is an awesome camera but its a long way from being an awesome system. And even to the extent it may be, its a very limited system. I LOVE the Fuji gear and hope they continue to grow it, but m43 is just so damn useful for so many different types of shooting that I'd be lost without it. Its my DSLR system in a sense, since I never had a DSLR. But its the one that'll do anything pretty well with about a zillion lenses to choose from to match the right gear to the task at hand. I can go weeks without shooting anything other than the Fuji, but then when I need it, I'm incredibly glad to have the OMD there too. In the end, I probably use the OMD more because I'm usually more of a task oriented shooter ("I'm gonna go shoot THIS today") and the OMD is just the right tool for a lot of those things. And when I just want to go for a photo walk with no particular goals or intent, I take the X-Pro and love it, but I suspect I'd feel differently if it was my only option.

Everyone's different and you may ultimately only use the Fuji gear. But right now it has that new camera smell and its seems right for everything. M43 will never have the romance of the Fuji, but its a damn practical and useful setup. I'd at least give it a good long think before you get rid of it. Unless you have some sort of DSLR system to do the same job...

Ray, Thanks for offering some sage advice. I really just was using my X100 for nearly everything. The E-P3 was just coming out for some tele work and macro work. My normal length primes have been sidelined for at least 2 months. I took it to the zoo today and got way more duds than keepers.... most of the time because I didn't have the right lens for the job. I have one camera and around 6 lenses in the m43 set-up that I could just easily cover with a superzoom.

I understand your preference for the versatility of the OMD, but my preference is for the camera I love to use ... which is the Fuji (although frankly it may be the X100 instead of the X-Pro1).
