Very real soon i'll buy the Canon G12. I'm thinking, after that i've seen all the alternatives...we can talk about G12 like the leader of the compact cameras actually?

I'm talking in consideration of diffusion of this camera, for the quality, for a series that has going on...

In the throne of compact cameras we can put the Canon G12?

In my opinion there is no single best camera, but you are right that the G12 belongs to the best compact cameras. I own the S90, too, and if size matters, the successor of the S90, namely the S95, could be an alternative to the G12. However, I would not buy any compact camera without a swivel screen again. I also prefer the handling of the G12. The handling of the S90 is very good for such a small camera, but due to the much bigger body the G12 offers a much better and (for a compact) professional handling. The image quality is very good, but I must add, that I use only raw files which I develop in Lightroom. I do not know much about the quality of the JPEGs.

Thank you pictor for your response. I'm a freelance photographer and for me the quality is fundamental. I also shot in RAW and convert in lightroom, my dark room. Thanks a lot and a happy new year!!!
