Canon PowerShot G1 X Preview: 7. Compared to (Raw): Digital Photography Review
Looking at the RAW files, the G1X is superior to the GH2 and GX1 in high ISO, and maybe even a little bit better than the Canon T3i and the Nikon D5100. And it's about equal to the Fuji X100 and Pentax K-5. That's very impressive!!!
Looks like Canon has a good sensor in its hands (assuming that Canon is not applying noise reduction on the RAW file).
If the G1X just had a slightly faster lens, and a better OVF .... sigh.
From what I am seeing, if someone is going to buy an entry level DSLR (or a m4/3 camera) and never use anything but the kit lens, the G1X would be a better option.
