Bill thanks, I ought to have titled this Minimalist Moon

BB, I looked out the office window and say it setting so ran out and caught this!

Thanks Penny, whites is tres chic

Thanks Briar!

Thanks Phoenix!

It is really very good capture. Love the way it captured the blemishes of the moon.
F600EXR been thinking to get it for ages, then chose XZ-1 for its low light performance and brighter lens, but what I see F600EXR is good at higher ISO if not brighter lens.

Have you experimented with its EXR modes? if so, what settings?

Thanks Lili for the for info: 'Nothing special' have read the first bit, camera has now charged.

Out of the box it looks 'cute' which means the purists will say yuk! its only slightly bigger in height than the S95 which I have decided to sell anyway whatever my feelings toward the F600EXR.
The beauty of the 'white' I can see all the dials buttons very easily..to be fair once used to a camera the fingers generally fall easily into place.
Yes it's plastic; and shows as such because of the 'white' but feels very nice and reasonably sturdy in the hand for another compact camera, the strip on the front to grip is well thought out and my thumb on the back has no problems although the dial is set on a slant towards the back of the camera.
The weather here in the NW of England is atrocious today so unlikely to get a decent picture on any of my camera's and certainly don't wish to be put off a brand new camera because of it.
The F600EXR will fit into just about any-body's pocket or handbag.
I suspect for me at least the Oly ZX-1 will definitely preform better in darker light and indeed maybe macro which I think it excels in a compact, I must say the Fuji with its built in lens hood is a far better system the Oly exasperates me I think its an issue Olympus should think about a lens cap on such a small compact is not ideal.
I look forward to getting to grips with this camera and hopefully when the weather clears up some half decent shots.

Penny glad you got yours! Cute has an advantage; no one takes you seriously while shooting and that is a form of stealth. I agree the layout is fairly intuitive. It is small enough that it is easily carried and the IQ is quite 'good enough'. The XZ-1 lens is sharper and of course much faster but the camera is not so pocketable and the len cap is a (necessary) annoyance.

First shot in the rain set on Macro F600EXR, there maybe some movement due to me getting drops of rain down my neck but was anxious to try something with this camera.
There also maybe a fault with date set it yesterday at what I thought was the correct date however todays date didn't register as 30/12/11 on Blipfoto site:eek:

Penny is that str8 OOC? Quite good for rain-down-the-neck! Did you check to see if the date were set?
