I'm guessing it's all to do with the 'X' series of lenses. It sounds like it's more of a 'Pro' camera than the GF series and maybe even the G series?? The 'X' series of lenses are now out so they probably see it as necessary to have a body to go with it. I hope it's more retro cool like the Pens than oddball like the G3.

I saw that image before and I forgot which forum it originated from, but it's a fake. It appears most of the pics those rumors sites post are fakes originating from asian forums.

Probably too much to hope that it has

sealed/WR build - as none of the X-series lenses released so far have that protection.
Cant really call it pro without sealing - and that is exactly what a carry-everywhere-at-all-times camera system should offer!

I believe the LC1 was their template. There was a discussion somewhere, where the picture description was translated into whatever asian language the site was in.

I want it simply because it looks like my old Digilux 2, (Leica version of an L1). Very cool. Thanks for the information. Too bad they can't do better than a 3.5/5.6 kit zoom.
Another thought - this looks "ripe" for a Leica rebrand too. Gotta' wonder.

You mean "the Leica version of the LC1". The L1 and Digilux 3 were different cams altogether.

Second, once again, it's a fake sourced from an Asian forum.

You got me so excited until I read no integrated VF. So the wait continues. But either Panasonic or Olympus will do it the sooner or later and with the new excellent mft primes it will be a great compact system.

I was reading some of the comments at 43rumors.com and I was amazed by some of them. What I get from many of the comments is that people won't buy it if it doesn't have a tiltable LCD and a built in EVF. Then there are a few who don't want either and think it will be great. I keep asking the question on various forums. How can either Olympus or Panasonic be profitable or be successful with micro-four thirds if some of the user base can't agree on what it wants?

Exactly. The L1 was what I owned. It was known as the LC1, L1, L1K... it was $1400+ when it first came out and was 7.5 megapixels. The raw quality was good and the 14-50 2.8 Leica Lens was nice.

That Leica lens was great but the camera was a bit more like a brick and hard to hold. It was one of the only cameras at the time that had a classic design with all the manual controls. Again, the bounce flash was superb. Press the flash button once and it popped straight up for bounce then press it again and it fell forward into the standard flash position. Why hasn't that caught on? It was awesome.
