Show "Light"

they are something new in the world -- as you probably know, they are caustics from sealed-unit dg windows, and - what? - 20 years ago? - we would never have seen them ...

Are the coloured parts in the top right of your image flare artefacts ?
Not that it matters -- they are quite beautiful. Rather like a Patrick Heron.

The coloured parts are 'rainbow' prismatic effects from from one of the other windows, they soon disappeared when the sun moved on.

I wish I had a light like this one, Jimmy. We could use more lights like this over in my neck of the woods.

greyelm, I missed your natural stained glass images. I saw something a little bit like this today but haven't uploaded the pictures yet to see if they have a chance of working out so well as yours - and I don't think they have a chance, really.

David, are you 100% sure you aren't going to stay up in that paradise on earth forever? That view was heaven sent.

It's not aberrations or fringing (well I'm sure the X100 isn't faultless but...) nor clever PPing (well anyone who knows me can attest to that). This is just as it appeared sneaking through the curtains a moment ago....yep, including the spectral strip at the limits of the pure 'white' strip and the pinkish hue - our ceiling is stock standard matt white...

...so easy to see why we love light so much. We'd be more than a little lost with it!

Yes and isn't all the more interesting when you put something in its path...its awesome watching it meander through all obstructions; equalled only by other natural elements such as water.

Actually curtains are shut today to enable me to use the laptop without glare - and I spied this light play just over my shoulder as I was watching the X10 Kai-esque preview, but also because its warming up and if I leave them open like yesterday then our little house gets uncomfortably hot very quick.
