Anyone here using a Fuji HS20 (or HS10)?

The F550 has the same sensor as the HS20, and IMO its good, for a snowflake (sizewise that is) A friend of mine has the HS20, he's flown out for the UK today so I haven't had a chance to go hands on with it, but he's quite chuffed with the results so far, even though he still prefers his dslr for most things. For him, the advantage lies in having a viewfinder and a superzoom. He showed me some shots online that he had taken, just using the EXR (thats pretty much auto, even tho there is another setting called auto) and they all seemed pretty crisp. The thing is that it was the middle of the day so there were no light issues. I like my F550 but I'm not sure if I would go the HS20, yet. Its heavy by comparison with other bridge cameras (on paper), and the zoom is manual. Not sure about AF. The weight of it sort of outweighs everything else, for me. Its not much lighter than my K5, for example, with a prime lens attached...

Just an FYI, the HS10 does not have the EXR sensor... so I wouldn't choose that instead.

These two cameras are the only upgrade really to the Panasonic FZ50. That was a great superzoom camera. Sadly Panasonic went into other directions. I'd be interested to see some pictures or hear about it here as well.

I just took my HS20EXR out on a two week tour through several southern US states and arrived back home in Germany today. I shot about 3000 frames and kept about 200 of them. If there's any interest, I could file an extensive report with plenty of examples in the travel image section. All in all, I was quite pleased with the performance of the camera. I use my all my EXR cameras with M resolution (so the sensor can work its "magic") and I found that best results with the HS20 will be achieved be setting noise reduction to "low".

I would LOVE to see such a report. My friend brought his HS to a meet we had last week. Its not as heavy as I thought it would be, and feels comfortable in the hand. The viewfinder isnt bad for a superzoom P&S. It felt a lot less toy-like than my FZ100 which is fine for what it is, but not a patch on the earlier models.

I have the HS20 and the best recommendation is to set it to 8MP for the EXR sensor and you get awesome shots out of it.

I'm selling mine which is only a couple of months old for $400 including postage. If your interested? You can ask Kyteflyer how often I change cameras and so the reason for selling mine is that I have decided to go smaller for a holiday.

I'm in Adelaide and am happy to post :) it also comes with a new energiser 4 battery charger and 4 batteries.

Here are two pics I shot with mine the other day at the beach.

Since Amazon sells brand new HS20EXR cameras for $375 with free shipping, you might want to reconsider this price tag of yours. ;)

Your images are really good for such a low priced camera - (compared with say a DSLR and long lens)

Do you reckon that the HS20 is good for bird shots maybe with the Raynox 2.2x teleconverter which would push the range to over 1500mm

anyone got any images at 750mm - or better still at full stretch with the Raynox
