Oh DAMN - how did I miss this? I was in bands and actively buying / trading gear when PRS got popular in the 90s. I liked them, of course, but never could justify the money. A good friend had (has still?) the Swamp Ash Special, and I dug it a lot, but when he offered to trade it for my 89 US tele, I realized I liked the tele more. So I had my chance, I guess.
That's a good setup for sure! I love the blue burst as well. I had a great ASAT in blue burst, but at the time I had 3 US teles, was modding some Classic Vibes, and my 66 Mustang. Unless another PRS heads my way (still wanting a Paul's Guitar, 513, and a few others), the Tele PD will likely be my next target. Amp wise I just parted with my Boogies, and have been jamming a new ENGL at the house that I'm loving.Ohhhhh I know that Tele Deluxe Plus, my friend. A good buddy of mine had one after high school, the blue burst. I, too, get all misty looking at those, and would LOVE to get my hands on one someday. I have its next iteration, a '97 3 pickup model, probably the outright "nicest" guitar I have, plays amazingly well, gets the most use over the years. Used a good tax refund in about 2001 to get it used for I think ~$750? Previous owner had swapped out the bridge for a Fender Broadcaster, which I like well enough, but he left the gold lace sensors (with chrome covers!) mid and neck. I've thought of swapping them, but they have their uses. I rewired it with a standard tele 3 way switch, and put the middle pickup on the mini toggle, which means anytime you hit the toggle, you add the mid p/u to whatever else you had going on. Vastly prefer that wiring to the convoluted factory phase toggle / 5-way setup. And hell, the picture was even taken with an X100, so it's on-topic for the thread!

I understood literally none of that but then I also think that "I got a 69 Chevy with a 396, fuelie heads and a hurst on the floor" is just random words...That's a good setup for sure!
