Plenty of light this morning. Overprocessed agapanthus.

The long-stemmed fruit balls of American Sweetgum, Liquidambar styraciflua, persist long after the seeds have been disbursed. My lawn is covered in hundreds of the things, and the Sweetgum towering next to my house still has thousands more hanging from the branches. Having one shoot out from under a lawnmower and ricocheting off one's shin is quite unpleasant.

Day Three - the wrong size

To be fair, before lunch time had ended, I had already clocked up a lot of wrongs I could have chosen for today’s title. The wrong time, the wrong train, the wrong attitude and some other wrongs it would just not be polite to share. I’ve went with the wrong size. Again, nothing to do with the actual picture. It’s just raindrops collecting on the shelter window at the train station this morning. My safety shot just in case I didn’t find something better at lunch time. I went out during my lunch hour in search of small yaktrax. Fantastic little grippy things that go over your shoes to stop you sliding on the ice. Very handy in Edinburgh during the winter. Keeps you on your feet. I broke my last pair in Iceland last month. Sad day. There are a few outdoor shops in achievable sliding distance of my work. First one had every size but my size. Second shop every size except my size. Third shop every size except my size. See the pattern? 10,000 plus steps and three more shops later I slid back to work empty handed. The LX100 didn’t leave the confines of my backpack during my perilous quest as I was too busy ducking, diving, bumping, shoving, huffing and swearing (quietly under my breath) past all the tourists, regular pedestrians, kids off school with nothing better to do, road traffic, regular customers, sales-mad customers and overly helpful shop assistants as I tried to complete my quest before my lunch hour had concluded. Got back deflated, ate my lunch then ordered my yaktrax from Amazon. The right size get delivered on Friday. I could have saved myself from some of the unmentionable wrongs that occurred over lunch time had I just started there.
