Unethical lying thief exposed

Saw it on DPR... curious as to his side of the story, but it's not looking great...

Souvid Datta Admits to Doctoring and Appropriating Photos

...
“I cannot begin to say how much I regret having acted in this abhorrent, short-sighted and irresponsible manner,” Datta tells TIME. “From here on, I do not know what will happen to me or the stories I have followed. I fear above all that they may remain untold.”
“My credibility has been fundamentally challenged, and I understand the serious implications of that in an industry where credibility counts for everything.”

Ouch ...

I don't think there is any undoing of the dirty deed is there?

He will no be trusted again as a photographer. OTOH, he may move on with his life an find redemption elsewhere. For some folks, the exposure of a "dirty deed" is a wake up call to the erosion they have let occur in what began as an earnest career.

Your wife hasn't told you about the website?

We joke... but in today's world, we have to assume that everything we say and do is on the record. And that someone has a smartphone video recording going.

And it's not like that video will always reveal the truth. Witness the video of the doctor being dragged off the United Airlines flight recently. It seemed pretty cut and dry, right? Except there was more to the story.

Cheers Don. It resonates with me very strongly. I came across it in a book when I was at a very low ebb in my life. I read it as 'you can't change what has happened to you, so just wipe your mouth and get on with it' I have got on with it ever since. But I also read it as 'If you have done wrong, you cannot undo the act' However you can atone for the act in other ways.
