Fuji just a few test shots

the UPS man just dropped off a new (used) X-Pro2. The light is fading so I wanted to fire off a few quick test shots before the sun goes down and still have time to walk the dogs.

I've got to say that the combo ISO/SS dial is a beautiful LOOKING design that is absolutely AWFUL to live with. I need to figure out some workaround.

The pets are fairly willing subjects most of the time....and they seem to look even more regal using the ACROS film simulation. All shot with the trusty old 35mm f1.4 wide open.

Charles is watching for squirrels (what else is new?)

Charlie's hair is rather tousled...and I love the uber-OOF twigs and branches just outside the window

And we can't leave out Oscar, the mean-eyed cat

Now I need to do some reading and get the settings just right. There's a WHOLE lot more going on in this thing than in the old X-Pro1...that's for sure.

I just knew it wasn't. Some people have a car for pleasure, even when they don't drive much, because they're car lovers. You're a camera lover. I got to say that I always felt the X Pro 2 had your name written over it. Have fun!

As for ISO: I set the limits off my auto ISO in the menu of my Olympus and leave the setting on Auto. I like being lazy like that.

Lovely set, Luke. Agreed on the over-the-top retro design of that ISO dial but since the Fuji gives you some pretty configurable Auto-ISO I wouldn't give too much of a damn. (I shoot my Fujis on Auto-ISO most of the time.)

I'm thinking Oscar is in charge, Lucy should teach meditation, and Charlie, well there's Charlie. I had a Cullen who was like Charlie. One day we were walking at a local park. He was on one of those pull out leashes. I had stopped to make a picture and when I was done and looked down Cullen had a squirrel in his mouth!
I'm very happy for you and your new camera. I hope it puts the Z back in your Zen. My cameras are getting old (for digital). My newest one is 5 years old. So I am beginning to explore options. Hopefully within the next year I will decide on something.

Great pickup Luke. Love the XPRO2, just out of my budget unfortunately.

Like you, I typically use Auto ISO. I haven't however, ever used the new XPRO2 dial in practice, so I can't say it's good or bad.

I do find the video by Palle Schultz very humorous on that topic. :D

I've tried it for a short while and was kinda OK with it - far from ideal but not necessarily more fiddly than pressing the Fn button on my X-Pro1 and picking the right ISO from the menu with the up/down buttons on the control pad (yawn). On the Sonys I can change the ISO via control wheel - way more intuitive and way faster. I use it all the time to set my shutter speed in aperture priority mode and prefer it over any Auto-Iso implementation I've tried so far including that on the Fujis.

Congratulations, Luke! "There's a WHOLE lot more going on in this thing than in the old X-Pro1...that's for sure." Oh yes, I couldn't agree more. ;-) Good luck with yours. Mine is on the way to Fuji repair with problems in the PC Auto Save circuitry. Looking forward to getting it back.
Again, congratulations on your acquisition.

You got the whole crew nailed "to a T". Maybe a picture really IS worth a thousand words.
