I have always wanted the lens, even though I much prefer zooms. Thanks to Joe (livnius) for listing it at a great price. Because of where I live, and what I like taking pictures of, a ZOOM lens is a must most of the time. However looking at the 75MM thread, I just had to have a copy. So, as soon as It came in, we went for a short drive from home and took a bunch of pictures. All handheld with my EM-1

Very nice set - and an amazing lens. Losing this lens is the one regret I have about selling out of m43. Losing the Fuji 14mm was the one regret I had about selling out of the Fuji system, but I more than made up for that with the Zeiss 21mm for my Nikon setup. But I still haven't found a replacement for the Oly 75 that does as many things as well. I'm doing OK without it, but I could see eventually picking up another copy with a used EM5 or EM10 or something just for the function I used to get from this lens...

Thank you guys very much!

Luke - I am the complete opposite of you. I do not think there is anything out there that would get me away from M4/3. As is I can print 36 wide easy, and as soon as the new EM-1 gets the hi res feature, I am done. My friend has a d610 and just picking it up makes me not want to shoot.

Did I say I love the EM-1? :)

M4|3 has come a long way since I dabbled with G1 and GH1, but of course every format has done so. That looks like a great lens in capable hands, happy that you can put it to good use

I do look at other systems, more so fixed focal length compacts which look superb, ie Ricoh GR/ Nikon Coolpix A (and what about the breathtaking R-X1?), but the 75 is the one reason I honestly can't see myself ever completely coming out of M43. It's that lens that enables me to ease the GAS and think "that's ok, Ricoh/Nikon/Sony will eventually upgrade these cameras, I'll wait".

Primes will do that; I've stuck with Pentax over their great DA primers like the 70/2.4, but in a budget crunch have shifted to Samsung, nx pancakes + adapted classic K primes. Once cash flow eases we shall see what comes next!

p.s. we just moved from Portland to Longview, Hood is visible with a short walk but Rainier and St.Helens now dominate my horizon!

Congrats :) It's an outstanding lens. I haven't used it very often yet (being more of a specialty lens for me - bought a refurb at the lower price).
But almost every time I did use it, the results are brilliant...

Thanks guys! I may sell the lens along with my 20mm 1.7 and 40-150 to get the pro version of the 40-150 and just add the difference. I really love the lens, but my wife is really into birds right now and the 2.8 would really help me around our house - it stays pretty dark due to all the gorgeous tall trees surrounding us. We will see. I just moved both polls with bird feeders on them very close to our kitchen windows to be able to get closer to the hummers. If it works out, I'll keep the 75mm.

That must be a beautiful view!

Yeah I'm OK with the view :) but if I lived a few miles north Adams would peek out from behind St.Helens! Hilarious since in east Portland Rainier is the one behind St.Helens..
I did need to trim the branches up a bit on our Super Cedar to improve the view.

To return from my subroutine() :sorry:

That 75mm lens is doing great work with you - color, bokeh and all are what I'd like in results! The light and detail on those naked trees is really impressive.
