Hello Nikon 1 users. I know there are at least a few users here who shoot with the FT1 mount adapter. I was wondering what lenses you like to use with it and show some samples. The three areas that I think are well-suited to the FT1 are macro, tele and "bokeh exploitation" type shots.

Basically, I use it with the 55mm f3.5 Micro Nikkor Q, the 30mm Sigma f1.4, the 85mm f1.4 Rokinon, and the 55-300mm Nikkor DX VR G.

I'll probably get rid of the 55-300mm for the 70-300mm cx lens if I can get one for cheaper than $996. The 55mm Micro Nikkor needed some surgery to mount - there's a baffle that extends about 1mm too far to mount, which needs to be filed off before it can be used. Fortunately, doing so is harmless for any other use of the lens.

As you said: A macro lens, a long tele, and a couple of fast primes for bokeh.

Yeah, I tried it with the 55-300 as well and wasn't happy with it. I returned them both. The 70-300CX samples provided by The Smoking Camera are much better.

At the moment the V1 is not my preferred camera to take with me but I tried some Nikon mount lenses with the FT-1.

All Nikon, but mainly

300mm f4 for close ups ………. most of the time

105mm f2.8 VR Micro for "macro" - still to get a good macro shot - my skill not the lens

300mm f2.8 VR +TC20lll for night skies, (moon)

but anything goes really - I have found to get the best IQ you need a little time to get used to the lens/body set up
