With Samsung NX20 now selling at exactly 1/2 the introductory price, I finally bit the bullet and bought it.
It is a surprisingly well constructed body that sits very well in my hands. The EVF is very similar to Panasonic GH2 — a bit smaller and slightly more crisp. The rear screen is simply excellent — it's the same panel as used in Panasonic GH3 and Olympus E-M5.
I was afraid of long processing times, but with the latest firmware and the fastest card available (Sandisk Extreme Pro UHS-I rated at 90MB/s) the camera is very nimble.
However, there are two small niggles. 1) The power switch around the shutter button is very firm and it's somewhat difficult to turn it with just one finger. I tried to do turn the camera on/off repeatedly for several minutes and now I have a bruise on my index finger! 2) The top control dial is about as bad as the rear click-dial on the Panasonic GF2. It's a far cry from the GH2's smoothness.
I think I will buy Samsung's 12-24mm UWA zoom and 30/2 and/or 45/1.8 lenses. I'm used to shooting with two cameras and this will be my wide-angle/normal camera with the Nikon V1 serving as my telephoto camera and camcorder.
I'm definitely a GAS victim this week
