Photo Effects 8 - Free until Jan. 28th

Never mind. I figured it out. I'd followed the link earlier from Leica Place but did not get as far as downloading, though it apparently thought I had. Using another browser solved the problem.

here's a garbage shot I had sitting around that I couldn't figure out what to do with. I'm pretty happy with this vignette option. I spent a fair amount of time getting it to where I wanted, but a lot of that was a poor composition (I think).

To be honest, I think a lot of these programs all do the same thing (more or less) and one just needs to find an interface they enjoy using (or better yet that they understand and can get repeatable performance from once they get comfortable with the user interface.

Nice. I found I was able to squeeze a little more detail out of shots taken with a 300mm lens and 2x converter that wasn't made for it (the Olympus 2XA, made for the 100, 135, and 200mm lenses). The difference is subtle, but it was an improvement. Topaz Detail might have done the same thing, and I was thinking of buying it, but will probably hold for a bit while I play with the freebie.

I agree that they do about the same thing to an extent. But with PE you can mask it in the program, I know you can kind of do that in Nik with the control points but to me its easier to use the mask and brush in or out what you want. Don't get me wrong I love the NIK products but the more I use PE the more I like it.

I had the same problem with Firefox, so I used Chrome, and I got the free download just fine. Have to look at cookies, as they've either managed to create a persistent one, or I've told CCleaner not to delete OnOne's cookies.

I downloaded it and tried using it in Aperture, but couldn't find the processed files. Does anyone who uses Aperture, know where the modified files go?

I'm probably missing something obvious...

Lol. I downloaded the version from the developers site, which is demo. After using the link emailed to me it all worked fine:)
