Things on the beach

Went for a quick walk along the beach yesterday afternoon.
All taken with a Fuji XF1 on auto EXR mode.

Is this beach near an old construction site?

No it's not, it's the first time I have seen that bit of gitder sticking out of the sand, also seeing the large peeble (about 8-9 inches across) and that coloured rock is different from the norm. usually it's just small shells and shingle that's gets washed up.

Could that girder be the remains of coastal defences from World War II ? Or maybe a bit of old pier ?

You could be right on both counts, I've seen a picture of Jetty in that area , but that's going back before WWII. That place would definately would of been fenced off very heavily during WWII.

I've just had an idea for that girder - build a sandcastle around it in the summer and then watch some tough kid try to kick it over :evilsmile:

Great capture, I wonder how many people would of noticed it if they're just walking along?

Thanks ,i went down to see the seals, and saw him on the rocks,not many people there. for some reason when i try to put a link to a picture of the seals it sets up a link to the whole set on flicker. I don't post much i have to get the hang of it.

Those were taken in the Hamptons , from there i drove to the tip of long island to the light house here r a few from there. these were taken with my omd i have another set taken with my Panasonic g5 and 45-175
