I rented the lens for a few days to use as for a series of waterfalls I shot. I did not use an external viewfinder. The waterfall images I captured required trial and error to get the framing correct as I was shooting very low to the ground. It was impossible to look through the view finder. I was also wearing knee high muck boots to keep dry.
Knowing I was going to do some of this kind of photography with my M-E, I found a used RRS M9 kit a couple weeks ago. I also purchased a RRS L plate for my Manfrotto tripod.
I will post a different waterfall shot in another thread for another idea of what this lens can do.
