Fuji My Rig...the RX1 and X100S

Together these two cover what shooting I like to do.

I taped notebook paper to the wall and desk. I set up the RX1 and took that shot with the X00S and then did the opposite for the X100S' shot.

Then brought them into Photoshop and merged them.

I think that the Fuji's image quality held up pretty well against the RX1.

Being both of similar size and focal length can I ask which gets used when?

No problem.

The RX1 is for when I really want some IQ to come through...stuff that's important that's not street shots.

The X100S is for street (where it excels) and for just casual shooting where it's not a disaster if the IQ isn't top notch (not to say that it's not good.)
 
I would say then that for this focal length you have a "best of both worlds" situation in terms of camera handling and sensor performance and even the "look" of the sensor output. Not a combination I would have thought of but I see what you're getting at.

I'd agree. I've said before, if they could put the RX1 guts into the X100S with it's hybrid viewfinder....I'd never own another camera again.
