Chicago burbs, mid 90's, haven't looked at the weather channel yet today but the heat is supposed to break tomorrow with a storm coming in. That is if the weathermen can predict with any accuracy. Theirs is the only job I know that one can be so off the mark and still get paid. At any rate my daughter was heading to university to do some work there on campus and she said that the air conditioning in the car went out and it is hothot. So she's opened the windows and will have to hunt for a shady spot to park. The car dash was reading high 90's while moving. On an asphalt parking lot it will read 110 or more.
And a little fun fact, my hubby being an engineer has access to a lot of neat little toys like a heat gun to read temperatures. We have several different colored cars and yes, black cars get hotter than white ones so color matters! One year at a car show he had the device with and was doing the same there, the participants were amused and surprised that there actually is a measurable, and sometimes a large one, difference in heat retention due to color.
