New rumors of Canon EOS M discontinuing The Next EOS M Camera(s) [CR1] « Canon Rumors
Coupled with Canon's new PDAF on a chip technology: Canon EOS 70D Hands-on Preview: Digital Photography Review
Could the EOS M POSSIBLY include this new technology?
Now, I've been using Canon products since about 2003. They are FRUSTRATINGLY slow to put in the new tech at the consumer level. They always feel a year or so behind. I remember ELPHs with no zooming during video like 2 years after Panny TX series had it. And no HD video, etc.
But maybe, just maybe, given how poor their EOS AF is, they have to put the PDAF chip in? That would truly differentiate their line.
Imagine if you could use their M mount 22 or 11-22 or maybe even the $99 EF mount 50/1.8 on the EOS M with fast AF. I just might, if they also put in a tilt screen.
Could Canon rise from the mirrorless dead here?
