Love the first bike shot!
I miss Austin. Food truck scenes here in Houston can get pretty crazy and packed too. Too many trucks here selling the same items though. I see "kim-chi fries" and "truffle fries" waaaay too much. I found the San Francisco trucks to be more creative.
i like that its got more pop to it, and that it shows the food truck area.. which was the pt of the day... but like the city in the background of the other shot.. i wish i had the time needed to get the buildings lined up nicely, but i was darting into and out of the road trying to get bike shots and thought i might have used up all my "dont let me get hit by a car!" luck, lol!
i get to houston often enuf that i should try the food trucks there... where abouts are they??
i cant imagine living somewhere other than austin if i had to be in texas. houston is too humid(not that austin ISNT humid... *wipes sweaty brow*) and big n busy, and dallas is too.... dallas... lol
i miss BOULDER, CO!!! omg, heaven! or Tacoma or Seattle, WA
yeah, i hate when you start getting the same thngs with extremely minor tweaks at places... im WAY over truffle fries, way too many of them all over the place now... we need a new "truffle fries" food... lol
Good captures, like the new Jag
oh yeah, they had it and another car right up in the middle of the pavillion type area. i loved the front of it, but it had a huge stripe of shadow awkwardly across it in the photo and it just looked terrible, so i just stuck to the rear shot, lol
the first might be my fave.....love the subject isolation in a crowd. The shots of the workers in the food trucks are all top notch. What process did you use on number 2.....is that a split toning? I really like it...did I see some variation of that in your last couple shots on flickr as well? I may need to borrow that.
also, I'm gonna steal that car in my mind and see if I can drive it fast enough to make it back to Milwaukee in time to go to work tomorrow at noon......gotta run.
she was ADORABLE! she just kept eating her popsicle and staring into the camera for like 5 minutes! like she was analyzing me, or wondering what camera i had... i imagine she has gas now after seein the rx1... or at least thats what i tell myself to further validate my huge expense... "see... even that little girl loves it!"
HA!
the lady worker was super perky about it.. i said "i waited in this long ass line just to get your picture!" she cracked up and did that silly pose for me... then the guy with the mask on was in the next trailer.. they had the back door(which was to the side in this situation) open for more air flow, and i walked up and he posed... another guy posed for me, but it was just as i finished snapping a few shots and was already just starting to lower the camera... so all i got was him glancing over just before he held up some of the food.. i was bummed, but didnt want to make him rehold it up for me and interrupt him.. it was crazy busy, so it was nice that he was nice enuf to pose the first time. lol
its color efex, infrared film, glamour glow, and bi color filter user defined.
it defaults to a blue and brown, i change the blue to a dark teal kinda color. then tweak the opacity of the colors, lower the blend to zero, then adjust angle and height to get it splitting the image into 2 color zones without affecting anything in the other sides zones(does that make sense? i want 2 things 2 diff colors without any teal touching what should be orange, etc)
im OBSESSED with it.. i keep making EVERYTHING that.. so yes, im CERTAIN youve seen it all over my flickr, lol!
it doesnt work for everything tho... you need a def split zone in the image for the 2 colors to make it look right(to ME at least)
the glam glow is just cause i think the duo tone looks nicer with the hyper softness, i max it out.
the infrared basically sucks the color out, and makes it super contrasty. i spend the most time here tweaking highlights and shadows and brightness levels to get just enuf highlight texture showing for how i like it.
steal away! ill give you backup! "no officer, he was with me at an all day movie festival... he couldnt have stolen that car! and no, i dunno who that guy that looks like him is thats in all the red light cams making a B line for wisconsin...."
hehe
relooking over the pics... i think christi and her dog get the jag... sorry luke.. its just more her... you need something with more record store owner eccentric qualities to it!
we'll find you a diff car to steal away with!
hehehehe
