[edit] and the short answer is "not for you, Australia!". Talk about ripping us off... Not only is the base price $40 more than in the US for Lightroom, we dont ever get the discounts, either. Stuffit, I say. (I wonder if we can buy from the US site...)

There have been ructions over here about the price gouging that both Adobe and Apple have visited on the Australian community... They had to present their arguments for retaining the huge prices they set, to a senate committee... but it will take centuries before anyone does anything, and then, it will be a mere wrist slap, and make no difference to us, the users. We are a *small* captive market, and the bottom line is now and always will be more important than the user.

Even though it's a download I assume it would need to be authenticated during the install, and they know where you live...

I think that LR4 (full version, not the upgrade) cost me close to $200 last year.
