Well, I've been scouring the house for 2 days now looking for the charger for the X100. Looked on the counter, in the drawer by the counter where it usually sits. In the drawer by the outlet where it usually charges. In the camera bag. In the suitcase. In my coat pocket (though I can't imagine taking the charger out for a walk). I've looked in the basket where we keep the dog toys. I've looked on my office desk where this a bunch of photography stuff scattered.

Then I checked all those places again.

I could have packed it mistakenly with a camera I sold. It could have been sitting on the kitchen counter by the trash can and a mischievous cat could have swatted it in for a goal. Or maybe it just got up and walked out. I don't know. But I'm getting ready to break down and order one.

And I'm fairly certain that a half hour after I get my shipment confirmation, I will find it.

Anyone have a spare that want to sell?

Please share one of your stories of something lost or something found or some thing that has just never been fully explained.

Last time I couldn't find my charger, it was in the front pocket of my suitcase, still packed from the last trip I'd taken with the camera. And the time before that, it was plugged into a wall outlet :D

Good luck, hope you find it!

If you're looking for something and you can't find it, then you are looking in the wrong place, look somewhere that you haven't looked up until now. Following that little maxim found me my Olympus E-1 charger recently. I'd convinced myself I'd used it some weeks earlier so it must be in one of a few certain places, it wasn't and I hadn't.

And beyond all the teasing, try to remember when you used the charger last, where it was, what you might have planned after the fact that might have led to your moving it if you indeed moved it. It is possible you erred and sent out the wrong charger but whoever you sold to would have mentioned it didn't work wouldn't they? That leaves the cat. Shifty little devils. But seriously I always try to retrace my steps. If it's been a while sometimes that is harder.. btw shame on you if it's been a while, you should be showing that X the love. :)

Luke, it's always possible that you did ship the X100 charger off with the wrong camera. If that's the case, no doubt you'll hear from the buyer. Or can you e-mail the buyer with a heads up to contact you immediately if the charger is in the package? Otherwise, my suggestion is to just stop looking for a while. If the charger doesn't turn up - or if its location doesn't suddenly spring to mind - in a week or so, then order a new one.

I freaked out one time when I was in Bora Bora and didn't have the right plug adapters for my laptop and camera battery charger. I was at an island resort for work and I'd be screwed if my batteries died on all my equipment!

My biggest problem is that I cannot see anything in plain sight if I'm pressured to find it. Literally. If it's on my desk, and I'm at my desk, and I have to find it quickly, it's like my brain blots it out. My wife usually comes into the office and hands it to me. Wallets, keys, glasses, not usually my camera, though.

walking out to my car in the garage to head to work, I spied a white storage box full of stuff I took out of my car before I traded it in (That was over a year ago, btw). Suddenly I remembered that my wife was <strike>nagging</strike> sweetly asking me to clean up that messy pile of paperwork on the kitchen counter before her Dad came to visit. It was right next to the pile of camera chargers. I grabbed the whole pile in put it in a storage box and promptly stashed it in the basement.

I'm 50% sure it might be in that box. I'll find out tonight.

That is how *everything* in my house gets lost - we "clean up" before company comes over (a.k.a. shuffle stuff around to someplace out of sight) and I end up sticking something in a box, bag, closet or the garage and promptly forget that I even moved it. Sometimes I eventually find it again

Did that one time before a vacation, cleaned stuff up by putting it in a box to be sorted later, only we didn't sort it, forgot about it. There was a car title [and of course we were selling the car] etc in that box. It was like a little treasure trove when we eventually found it however we had to get a copy title so we could sell the car on time. So yeah, it happens LOL

If the X100 takes the same battery as the X100S ... and if the Wasabi X100S charger will charge a Fuji X100 battery ... and if I can find my Wasabi charger, then you can have. I'll look for it when i get home if all the other ifs are answered in the affirmative.

=G=

It does... my old X100 batteries are getting reused in my X100S :) Very kind gesture of you Gary!

Know exactly how you feel, Luke. I am in the same boat with the blasted charge cable for my XZ-1. I think I'm going to have to hit ebay for a proper battery charger, because that cable just is refusing to show itself. I have a bazillion mini USB cables but that doesnt help. Sighhh.
