I waited a year before buying an X100 for half the price at launch, and will maybe do the same with the X100s. I bought an NEX-7 (used) for less than half the launch price a couple of weeks ago. I also collect guitars, so I have to watch my spending. Lol.

While the x100s is a marked improvement over my x100, it's not earth shattering enough for me justify the cost.
So instead,
I'll be looking for the x100s improvements implemented in an 'X-E1s' or X-E2' type of body

Even though I have xp1, there is always going to be a place for x100 type of camera because of leaf shutter. Dead quiet, flash sync up to max shutter speed and lighter than xe1.

Sticking with the X100. Financial challenges prevent anything else and I don't want to sell any of my other cameras to indulge a whim. The X100 may not be latest and greatest, but it still does a fantastic job. I have no complaints at all.

My Dealer has the X100s in stock so when I take the X20 back tomorrow I could be tempted to try it.
There again it's another XTrans sensor and having seen the comparisons with the X100 on the Digital Rev review there's something about the X100s image that's not so "satisfying" to my eye.
I think Steve Huff has seen it too.

Well that's Goodbye to the X20.
I had to try the X100s and was prepared to buy if it blew me away.
It feels totally familiar in the hand as you might expect but not as fast as the hype has suggested.
It's certainly quicker and very nice but didn't seem to be the Speed Demon I was expecting - however it was inside a shop so it could be very different in the sun.
It also gave me a chance to see if this X Trans Sensor underexposed and ,while nothing was proved , several of the shot's histograms looked like the X20 - that is "well left".
When I saw that all thoughts of a purchase left my mind.
I'd love to know how X100s jpegs look straight from the camera.

I decided to cancel my order for the X100s, right on the cusp of its anticipated delivery. Another six months to a year of use for the X100 will tell me whether I really need the X100s for my shooting preferences.

^I think that if I had the X100, I wouldn't have pre-ordered. You're not missing out on anything monumental in my book by continuing to use your X100 and waiting.

Sticking with the X100. Even if I had the money, I don't see the upgrades being worth it. They're good improvements, but this one is MINE. We've been through too much together... you don't ditch your friends. Also, only thing I'd blow more money on is an XE-1, a very wide/fast lens, and a medium/long lens for it.
I'm also sticking with my X100 (is using the word sticking a good word to use in the same sentence as the X100, hmmm so far mine has been good). I'm not tempted with any new cameras at the minute ... maybe I should check my temperature. My bank balance is no doubt relieved!

I'm the same - I bought my X100 a couple of weeks or so ago, after deciding against the X100S on the basis that a) I couldn't justify the high price (twice that of a new X100) against the original X100 (I have a daughter getting married in 6 weeks' time!) and b) I wasn't sure that just sticking an X-trans sensor into the X100 body would necessarily give better IQ. (From what I've read, opinions are varied on this point). I have a DSLR which covers my high speed AF needs etc, and I will use the X100 for more "sedate" imaging.
I got my X100 just 3 days ago, so no, I won't be getting the X100S. The original has so far been very pleasing, and the only improvements I care for are the higher resolution, possibly better high ISO performance and some handling improvements; not worth paying more than double the amount I paid for my (used) X100! Using Rico's "just mash the shutter" technique I find the X100 focuses impressively quickly most of the time, too, so no complaints there.
