It always has been - I'd be pretty surprised if they'd change that now or most of their loyal customers might not upgrade. OTOH, that was Ricoh and this is Pentax, so Ricoh may not be looking at this as the new GRD - or maybe they do? I guess it'll become clear in time but that time in't yet. I'm gonna give the Nikon a pretty good workout, but if I decide I want to buy it, I might hold off until we know more about this Picoh/Rentax model... Between Fuji, Leica, and Sony, it seems the market for fixed lens 35mm cams may just be spoken for. The 28 market is still sort of open with a real specialized camera from Sigma (great IQ, but painfully slow, so only good for some types of photography, Ricoh's existing GRD and GXR models, and now the new Nikon. Seems like more room to play for new entrants. But I guess stuff changes fast enough that anyone might take a shot at any of these segments. Nobody saw the RX1 coming either...
