what's all this Adel stuff - two years in the US at the top

my wife now wants me to download a copy from Amazon ....... must ask the "kids" how I do that

Can you put it on a Kindle ........ I bought her one last year .......

I believe it is something the young folks call Beat Music ... I don't like it, there's never a tune you can hum, and you can't hear the words. And they should all get their hair cut and get a proper job

She's like a modern version of Dusty Springfield, except she likes boys.

Maybe the kids can tell you if it can go on a kindle. Sometime in the last 2-3 years I've turned into the world's youngest geezer. I just turned 44 and I suddenly don't know anything about technology anymore. Reminds me of when i was little and I had to program my parents VCR. You could actually RECORD live TV onto a magnetic tape and play it back later when it more convenient!

But first I had to get the clock to stop blinking 12:00

Oh lawrd. No wonder you guys like shooting film.

Adel's the biggest thing to happen to women in music. She's the current genX Madonna only she can sing and swept the Grammys last year. I mean really belt it out. And no, one can't load music on a Kindle it doesn't come with a 35mm audio jack (unless its the Kindle Fire, which is like an iPad).

Here's Adel belting it out at the Royal Albert Hall-

OK - problem solved - I've just ordered one of those goggle things

The Nexus something ...... supposed to be good - my son reckons that when I get the download thing it will go into that ....... but I've looked at the image on the net and I cannot see anywhere to stick an LP, (sorry I think the term these days is CD) .... and where are the stereo speakers?

Maybe, thats cool. The ugh was in ref to Adel in general.

She has talent, yup. The 20 something angst and whining thing isn't for me, nor is the young person singing music targeted at old people (like soft food), but that is not the ugh part.

Everywhere you go for almost 2 years now you get an earful of Adel. Most of the songs sound the same. All depressing. Nothing upbeat. Shoot me.

You should watch her in "Last Tango in Halifax" - you will be glued to the screen ........ I'm waiting for the "boxed set" to come out

Well now. The Nexus is a pretty advanced piece of engineering. Place it flat on a table top. The shiny side up. Just show the cd to the tablet, wave it about a few times, and throw the cd out of the window. You don't need it any more. It's this object/recognition/temporal/transference thing. The music should come from the clouds overhead. I'm sure you must have already heard of cloud computing. This is exactly what it is.

Best of luck!

I thought that was Shelby Lynne - Adele strikes me as a bit fuller of voice, something a little deeper and less funky about her than Dusty or Shelby. Her pop hits are ubiquitous enough to get really tiresome, but if you dig into her albums a bit, there's some really fine stuff there, and I think her hits will sound good too once they're out of heavy rotation. I used to hate Led Zepplin when they were unavoidable too, but I got over it. I didn't particularly like her either based on what I'd heard on the radio, but one day I was walking my dog and I heard some amazing bluesy female vocals just bursting forth from one of the cars that I caught at a couple of stop lights. The gal pulled the car into a parking lot as I walked by and I asked here what that music was and, you guessed it, it was Adele. Really fine stuff. Its not something I listen to a lot, but I have pretty big respect for the young woman.

You can play it on a Kindle Fire or any of the tablets. And some of the earlier Kindle readers had headphone jacks and a rudimentary ability to play music, but weren't really made for that. And the newer ones don't play music at all.

I was just doing some cloud computing, but it looks like the sun has broken through. Time to take the dogs for walkies and search for a "4" to shoot.

Funny. I got my 4 at dinner when the wife said "what 4 are you going to shoot tonight?"
